Founder & Consultant National Spine & Pain Centers
Raised in New York City, Dr. Les Zuckerman matriculated at CCNY and in 1989 completed an accelerated medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Following graduation, he went on to complete both his Anesthesiology and Pain Management fellowship training at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania. Upon conclusion, Dr. Zuckerman was invited to join the faculty at U. Penn as both an Anesthesiology and Pain Management instructor.
By 1996, he returned to NYC to become the Director of Pain Management Services at the prominent Englewood Hospital in Bergen County, New Jersey. In 1998, Dr. Zuckerman recognized a growing need for outpatient pain management services and seized an opportunity to join two like-minded entrepreneurial colleagues from the University of Pennsylvania (Drs. Marc Loev and Bobby Dey) to co-found The Spine Center (TSC) in Rockville, MD.
From 1998 through 2011, Dr. Zuckerman cultivated a successful outpatient interventional pain practice and his peers in Washingtonian Magazine ultimately recognized his expertise in the well-respected Top Doctor’s edition. His leadership at TSC was instrumental in expanding its multiple centers throughout the state of Maryland. To date, TSC has expanded from the founding members to 16 physicians at 10 joint outpatient office-ambulatory surgical centers.
His professional interests include management of the NSPC medical staff, expanding the scope of clinical service offerings, EMR implementation, the development and incorporation of patient outcomes measures, and spearheading R&D to promote further development of IPM services.
